The OUYA controller has a sleek, chrome-looking build, and a "boxy feeling" upon being held. It is the default source of input for the OUYA, but can be replaced with an Xbox/PS3/Wii controller in certain games.
Controls[]
The OUYA controller has 4 buttons of which spell out OUYA, 2 analog sticks with press-down buttons, a center "◡" button, a connected DPad, dual RL triggers and shoulder buttons, and a touchpad.
Controller Lag[]
This problem tends to occur when using 2 controllers or more, but can also happen if the controller is more than 5 feet away from the console. As of the Chupucabra update, wifi is automatically weakened to reduce controller lag when using multiple OUYA controllers.
This is mostly due to an issue with the OUYA WiFi/BT implementation, possibly due to the poor antenna and metal case - which also caused WiFi problems. Using the controller on modern Android devices does not usually result in these problems occurring.
Controller Revision[]
Starting early 2014, every new OUYA came with an improved contoller. These new stealthily improved OUYAs are marked by the new packaging. The original packaging consists of three games on the back of the packing- Chronoblade Demo, Final Fantasy III, and an unknown game. The new OUYAs have a picture of what looks to be a family on the back, replacing the three games. These improved controllers can be found in every 2014 OUYA "Brushed Alluminum" package, and can be purchased seperately on the OUYA.tv store.
